DAVIS, Calif. – Corey Moore of UC Davis men's track and field as well as UC Davis beach volleyball pair, Colleen McGuire and Kylie Miller, have been named UC Davis male and female Student-Athletes of the Week.
 
Junior thrower Corey Moore opened his outdoor season in impressive fashion. Despite the wet conditions in both rings, Moore claimed individual victories in the shot put and discus. The junior uncorked the shot (15.46m) 50' 8.75" and unleashed the discus (48.83m) 160' 2".
 
Beach volleyball's dynamic duo of junior Colleen McGuire and sophomore Kylie Miller, who occupy the second spot of the line-up, have dominated the second flight since the start of the season. The pair has yet to lose a set on the year to go 9-0, winning all-individual sets to go 18-0. The pair has not needed a tiebreaker set in any of their matches and have won by an average of seven points. In 2022, McGuire made the All-Conference second-team and has continued to bring that caliber of play to help UC Davis achieve its incredible 9-0 start.
