DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis Athletics Ticketing has recently partnered with Vet Tix, a non-profit organization, which serves to connect military personnel, veterans, and first responders with free tickets to athletic events. UC Davis' ticket office has also joined forces with local Travis Air Force base, in order to provide donated athletics tickets to our military service members of Davis and the greater Northern California community.
The Vet Tix organization works with ticket offices all across the country to offer free tickets to active-duty military and veterans. Their goal is to get military members and their families engaged in community events, reduce stress, and create memories for the entire family. Vet Tix offers tickets to all six military branches: the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force. They also offer their service to Law Enforcement and active First Responders. This program provides tickets to sporting events, concerts, and performing arts, as well as educational and family activities. Once military personnel sign up and their service is verified, they simply select the event they wish to attend and pay a small delivery fee to receive their free tickets. To date, this program has provided 19,094,150 tickets to military, veterans, and their families.
"As an alumni, I try to support UC Davis by attending their events. Thank you UC Davis for supporting veterans by donating tickets so we can attend the games and events," says US Air Force Veteran Bobby, who has attended multiple UC Davis football games thanks to Vet Tix.
Some VetTix members have even been able to attend their first college football game because of the program, "Thank you 1st Tix and UC Davis for donating the tickets. My boys and I were able to attend our first college football game. The stadium was amazing and the atmosphere was electric. Once again, thank you," commented Law Enforcement Officer/ Active First Responder Utodi on her experience with VetTix for her and her family.
The UC Davis Athletics ticket office works with Vet Tix to donate tickets for every home football game as well as other sporting events. Just this year alone, intercollegiate athletics has donated over 500 tickets for various sporting events. It doesn't stop there, UC Davis wants military members and veterans to be a part of all the game day fun. Ticketing has also partnered with the UC Davis Veterans Success Center located on campus, which will be hosting a tailgate for veterans of both UC Davis and Sacramento State for the annual Causeway Classic. The 'Salute to Heroes' Tailgate will take place Nov. 18 starting at 10:30 a.m. on the Bob Biggs Field located on the corner of Hutchinson Drive and La Rue Road. The tailgate is hosted in collaboration between the CAA Military Alumni Network and the UC Davis Veterans Success Center. Sign up to attend and help cheer on the Ags to victory!
