DAVIS, Calif. — The Aggies opened their head-to-head season competition with wins over the University of Nevada, Reno and Cal State East Bay at a Saturday afternoon tri-meet hosted at Schaal Aquatics Center. 

Elena Gingras won two events for the Aggies, dominating long-distance freestyle by taking the top spot in both the 1000 (10:32.15) and 500 free (5:05.04). 

UC Davis took first place in 11 of the meet's 16 events and eight different Aggies secured individual event wins. The Aggies swept the top three spots in the 200 Free, 100 Breast, 50 Free, 200 Breast and 500 Free.

The Aggies will look to keep their early season momentum going when they travel to UC San Diego to compete in a swim only meet against the Tritons on Oct. 28.
