Davis, Calif. - Cason Goodman tied the game in the second half and UC Davis opened Big West play with a 1-1 tie against Cal Poly at Aggie Soccer Field. 

Goodman's header in the 77th minute from Ethan Hoard drew the Aggies even after Cal Poly took the lead in the 22nd minute on a ball that bounced between teams on the right side of the box before finding the back of the net. 

A freshman from Santa Barbara, Goodman's goal was his second of the season and gave him the team points lead. 

Charles Janssen lowered his goals-against-average to 1.12. 

The Aggies out-shot Cal Poly 16-6 and took three corners to the Mustangs' three in a game that saw time run off often in the second half on restarts and free kicks. 

UC Davis (1-5-3, 0-0-1) play at UC Riverside on Saturday before returning to Aggie Soccer Field to host UC Irvine on Oct. 5.
