First ever Pride Game for UC Davis Field Hockey as Aggies drop contest to Stanford

Davis, Calif. — The UC Davis Aggies Field Hockey Team hosted its first ever Pride Game Sunday morning as they played Stanford. The Pride Game was in support and celebration of all sexes, gender identities, gender expressions, sexualities, and asexualities.

The Aggies unfortunately dropped this contest by a score of 0-5. The Aggies drop to 0-3 conference play.

UC Davis was able to record one shot on the game while goalkeeper Kalli Wagnon recorded the only save on the day. UC Davis was also able to put together one penalty corner attempt but was not able to capitalize.

Caroline Stutte recorded the only shot today for UC Davis during the first period on the lone corner attempt, but it was blocked by the Stanford back line.

The Stanford Cardinal (3-5) were led by Rose Winter who scored two goals and picked up one assist. Lynn Vanderstichele and Haley Mossmer also made their presence felt as both recorded one goal and one assist on the day. Isabelle Pilson added one goal for the Cardinal as well as she kicked off action with a goal just two minutes and forty seconds into the game.

UC Davis continues America East Conference play Friday, Sept. 30, when they travel to Berkeley to face off against the California Golden Bears. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 PM start. The Aggies next home game is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 21 when they host James Madison for Senior Day.
