Burlington, VT — UC Davis opened America East play with their first road game of the season Friday, falling 1-3 to host Vermont.
Junior
Lizzy Tedrow kicked off action for the Aggies scoring just three minutes into the game after she was able to score off her own rebound to beat Vermont's Sierra Espeland. Tedrow finished the day with two shots, both coming on goal.
Graduate student
Shannon Lackey made her first start for UC Davis in today's match and also recorded a shot for the Aggies.
Audrey Lee also added two shots herself, while younger sister
Emilie Lee registered a shot as well.
Goalie
Kalli Wagnon was everywhere for UC Davis today after recording eight saves and denying multiple Catamount goal opportunities. Even with this standout effort, Vermont was able to capitalize on a questionable goal ruling that gave Vermont their second score of the game and relentless corner penalties. The Catamounts recorded 12 corners to the Aggie's 4 and these ultimately helped propel Vermont in today's game.
UC Davis (1-5, 0-1) resumes play Sunday, Sept. 19 when they travel to face UMass Lowell (4-2) in a 10 A.M. PDT game. Following this, UC Davis rounds out their first East Coast road trip of the year with a Monday tilt against Quinnipiac Sept. 19 before returning home.
