Corvallis, Ore. - UC Davis got an equalizing goal from Marcus Garcia in the second half in a battle against No. 5 Oregon State but fell to the Beavers 2-1 in Corvallis to begin the 2022 season. 

Trailing 1-0 at the half, Max Glasser found Garcia, who scored in the middle of the frame to knot the score against the defending Pac-12 champions at one. 

Charles Janssen made a save 22 seconds later to hold firm and another at 68:42 but Oregon State were able to put home the game winner in the 69th minute. 

Garcia had two shots on goal and Andy Velasquez had the Aggies other shot on frame. 

UC Davis will have a week between games until facing Stanford on Sept. 1. The Aggies will play one more road game at Saint Mary's on Sept. 4 before beginning a three-game homestand.
