Northridge, Calif. - UC Davis didn't allow a run after the third inning on Sunday but fell 4-1 to CSUN in Sunday's series finale in Northridge.
Bryan Green entered in the third inning and struck out six over six innings, allowing just an earned run on three hits with no walks. It was the longest appearance without a walk of his career and his fourth quality appearance of the season.
Green at one point retired 12 straight batters, holding CSUN off the bases from the fourth inning until a one-out double in the eighth.
It was the Aggies who struck first on Sunday with
Mark Wolbert leading off with a single, taking second on a failed pick off and later scoring on a single by
James Williams III.
UC Davis was set down in order in the second, third and fourth innings before
J.D. Mico's one-out single in the fifth. Wolbert singled with two outs to put runners at the corners but the Aggies weren't able to create the go-ahead hit.
Wolbert went 2-4 for his third consecutive multi-hit game and scored all of UC Davis' runs in the series. He went 7-12 over the three games to push his average to .364, good for third in the Big West as of Sunday afternoon.
The Aggies will return home to host UC San Diego May 13-15.
