San Luis Obispo, Calif. -
Jonah Henrickson homered and the Aggies had the tying run in the on deck circle in the ninth inning but fell 6-3 to Cal Poly on Sunday.
The game marked the final road game of the season for UC Davis, who will finish the season at home against Long Beach State May 26-28.
UC Davis (6-32, 5-22) was held hitless until
Kyler Arenado's two-out single in the fifth.
Raul Sandoval led off the seventh with a walk ahead of Henrickson's home run, a blast over the wall in left center that made it 6-2 with no outs in the inning.
Henrickson was the catalyst again in the ninth, hitting a one-out double down the line in right and advancing on a passed ball.
Omar Plascencia walked to put two on and Henrickson came home on a sac fly by
Nathan Peng to make it 6-3. The Aggies weren't able to extend the rally though.
Henrickson went 2-3 and was responsible for all of UC Davis' runs. It was his first multi-hit game since April 26.
Carson Seeman and
Daniel Carrion both threw two scoreless innings with Seeman starting and allowing just an unearned run and no hits.
Next weekend's series is UC Davis' last of the season with May 28's game serving as senior day for
Kyler Arenado,
J.D. Mico, Sandoval, and
Nate Lemos.
