RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Extra innings has been the norm for the UC Davis softball team as of late as they downed UC Riverside in eight innings, 4-3, in the series finale Saturday afternoon. The Aggies fell in the opener of the doubleheader, 11-4. After the weekend series, UC Davis moves to 18-18 overall and 6-6 in Big West play.
Four of the last eight games have been decided by free softball as the Aggies scored in the top of the eighth when

UC Davis was in control of game three, but Riverside scored two in the seventh to extend the game.

Kenedi Brown went the distance once again, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six in eight innings.

Anna Dethlefson batted 2-for-4 with an RBI, while
Libbie McMahan also collected two hits.
In the first game of the day, UC Davis fell, 11-4. The Aggies raced out to an early lead when Diaz smacked a grand slam over the wall in left, but UCR answered with seven runs in the second inning to secure the series.
The Aggies will return home to La Rue Field for a three-game series against CSUN that will begin on Friday, April 15.
