SAN LUIS OBISPO – UC Davis started its time at the Big West Conference Beach Volleyball Championship as they took on CSU Bakersfield, CSU Northridge and #9 Hawaii. The Aggies defeated CSU Bakersfield, 4-1, CSUN, 4-1, and fell to Hawai'i, 4-1.
In the match against CSU Bakersfield,
Ashlee Goycoochea and
Rose Holscher won their fourth match in a row and 11
th of the season in a straight sets victory over Alaina Gendale and Seleisa Elisaia of the Roadrunners in the #4 match.
Lily Justine and
Tabitha Mitchell (#2 match) and
Megan Luly and
Morgan Coolbaugh (#4 match) each won in straight sets.
Sam Lazenby and
Kylie Miller won the #5 match in three sets over Caroline Benke and Hayley McCluskey of the Roadrunners.
In the match against Hawai'i, Goycoochea and Holscher won their fifth match in row, in the #4 match, with a three-set victory over Anna Maidment and Sofia Russo. Coolbaugh and Luly lost a tight three-set match to Sarah Penner and Megan Widener.
In the match against CSU Northridge, Goycoochea and Holscher extended their winning streak to six with a straight sets win over Kailey Klein and Victoria Rogers.
Colleen McGuire and
Chelsea Maeglin (#1 match), Justine and Mitchell (#2 match) and Lazenby and Miller (#5 match) each won their individual matches.
UC Davis will continue their time in San Luis Obispo as they will take on Long Beach State at 9 am.
