LA JOLLA, Calif. – The UC Davis softball team dropped its series opener to UC San Diego, 3-0, Friday evening at the Triton Softball Field. After the day, the Aggies move to 18-23 overall and 6-10 in Big West play.
UC Davis out-hit UC San Diego, 5-3, and stranded 11 on base. The Tritons did all their damage in consecutive innings, scoring one in the third, fourth, and fifth innings.
Sophomore
Anna Dethlefson paced the Aggies at the plate, collecting three of the five team hits with a 3-for-4 day. Dethlefson raised her average in conference play to .379 on the season.

Kenedi Brown (11-14) was once again on the tough end of the decision, allowing three runs on three hits while striking out eight.
The two teams will meet for a doubleheader tomorrow, starting at Noon.
