DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis softball team fell in the series finale, 4-3, Saturday at La Rue Field. After the weekend, the Aggies move to 18-21 overall and 6-9 in Big West play.

UC Davis fell behind early, 3-0, as CSUN took the early lead after the first two innings, but the Aggies battled back and eventually evened the score with a run in the second and two more in the fourth.

Anna Dethlefson got the Ags going with a single through the left side and then Sarah Starks smacked a single through the right side. Reese Mattley followed suit with a single of her own to drive in Dethlefson.

In the fourth, the Aggies did all their damage with two outs as Libbie McMahan doubled down the line in left field to plate Alyssa Ito. Delaney Diaz then singled to center to score Sommer Kisling.

TUC Davis out-hit CSUN, 8-5, but stranded 10. Dethlefson and Mattley collected multi-hit games for the Aggies.

Kenedi Brown (11-12) was tagged with the loss after allowing four runs on five hits with five strikeouts in the complete game effort.

UC Davis will head to Berkeley to face Cal on Tuesday, April 19. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
