Davis, Calif. - UC Davis played its final non-conference game of the season Tuesday afternoon, falling 14-4 to Pacific at Dobbins Stadium.
Bryan Green got the start for UC Davis, pitching into the fifth inning and departing after hitting a batter. Green went 4 1/3, allowing four earned runs on four hits with one walk against five strike outs but the majority of the damage done against Green was on a three-run home run in the first inning. He recovered to pitch three straight scoreless innings before being lifted.
UC Davis responded quickly to that early 3-0 hole.
Mark Wolbert led off with a walk,
J.D. Mico singled to center, and
Jonah Henrickson was hit to load the bases.
Raul Sandoval drew a walk to bring one run in and
Nick Leehey hit a sacrifice fly to pull the Aggies within 3-2.
Pacific got to
Daniel Carrion in the fifth to bring Green's runner home but the Aggies responded again with Leehey walking in the bottom of the sixth and coming around to score on a passed ball and two wild pitches.
The Tigers broke the game open with five-run innings in the seventh and eighth to put the game out of reach though.
The Aggies (0-6) aren't schedule to play again until Mar. 19 when the Big West Conference season begins with a double-header at UC Irvine, a departure from the previous schedule that had that series beginning on Friday, Mar. 18.
