LONG BEACH, Calif. – UC Davis sophomore
Kenedi Brown threw over 200 pitches and went the distance in a 13-inning affair as the Aggies downed Long Beach State, 6-3, Sunday afternoon.
Brown scattered eight hits and allowed two earned runs, while striking out nine.
Sarah Starks, who hit two home runs in the series provided the heroics in extra innings with a triple to right field that plated
Sommer Kisling. Starks and
Sarah Nakahara scored on errors to give Brown the cushion she needed to secure the victory.
The Aggies battled to extend the game, scoring three runs in the final two frames as
Anna Dethlefson hit a home run in the seventh to even the score at 3-3.
Alyssa Ito got UC Davis back in the game in the sixth with a two-run single.
UC Davis continues its road trip with a Tuesday evening matchup at Pacific. The Aggies will then host CSU Bakersfield for a three-game conference series this weekend.
