San Diego, Calif. - UC Davis swept both of its games at the Aztec Invite on Saturday, defeating Azusa Pacific 14-2 in the morning and San Diego State 12-9 in the afternoon.
Noelle Wijnebelt totaled six goals on the day, four against the Aztecs and two against Azusa Pacific.
Allyson Clague had a hat trick against Azusa Pacific and added a goal against San Diego State and
Sam Yoo scored twice against San Diego State.
Grace Gulsvig,
Makenna Ferguson,
Morgan Polterock,
Ashley Salem, and
Ryan Sund each scored once against Azusa Pacific.
Emily Aikema and
Jordan Werkmeister found the back of the net twice and
Kelly Hungerford,
Alyssa Lengtat, and
Julia Hartmann scored once against San Diego State.
It was all Aggies against Azusa Pacific as UC Davis scored four times in the first and second periods.
Nellie McAdams made 12 saves in that game, a season-high.
After No. 19 San Diego State tied the afternoon game at 3-3 through one period, the Aggies outscored the Aztecs 5-1 in the second to lead 8-4 at halftime. UC Davis pushed that lead to 12-6 in the fourth period before the Aztecs scored the last three goals of the game.
Just one of the Aggies' goals on the day was assisted.
UC Davis will next face CSUN at home on April 2 at noon.
