La Jolla, Calif. - UC Davis turned a one goal deficit into a five goal lead with a stretch of six unanswered scores to pull away from UC San Diego 9-5 on Friday in La Jolla.
Trailing 2-3 in the second period,
Hailey Williams,
Tess Fundter, Noelle Wijnebelt,
Julia Hartmann, and Williams and Wijnebelt again put the Aggies up 8-3 with 7:36 to go.
Alyssa Lengat, Williams and Wijnebelt each scored twice in the game with
Emily Aikema providing the game's opening score.
The win was UC Davis' (12-9, 1-1) first Big West Conference victory of the season and gave it a 3-0 sweep in all matchups over UC San Diego this season.
The Aggies will stay in San Diego through the weekend to play Azusa Pacific and San Diego State at the Aztec Invite on Saturday and Sunday before returning to Davis to face CSUN on Apr. 2.
