Davis, Calif. - UC Davis (3-7, 1-3) ended its regular season with a bang on Saturday, defeating No. 8 Fresno State 11-9 in thrilling fashion for the program's second ever win over the Bulldogs.
Tied at 8-8 with just one reining point decided, the Aggies'
Lauren Langbaum was awarded a re-ride after going seventh overall. Fresno State went on to pick up a point at No. 8 to go up 9-8, but
Amber Nusser won her point in the ninth spot 70.5-70 and
Kendal Scheiner's 67.5 in the first group held up to give the Aggies a 10-9 lead with just Langbaum's re-ride left and the Bulldogs holding both the overall points and western equivalency tiebreakers.
The Bulldogs' Addison Welman went first as the original No. 2 rider, scoring a 71 and Langbaum went second, scoring a 72 and sending cheers across the UC Davis Equestrian Center. Langbaum was named the reining MOP after her heroics.
It was a dominant showing for UC Davis' English riders as the Aggies won the jumping seat events 7-3.

Keely Laughlin (88),
Carly Sweeney (86), and
Tasia Anstead (85) each won fences points. Laughlin (88), Gundersen (74), and Anstead (48.5) went on to win flat points with Laughlin earning double MOP honors for the meet.
Maddie Gregory won UC Davis lone horsemanship point, a 78.5-63 win.
Saturday also served as senior day for UC Davis as the Aggies sent off Laughlin,

Madison Dempster,
Cami Nembach,
Laura Wise,
Lindsey Wright,
Ruhi Garg,
McKensey Middleton, and
Sophia Calamari with a ceremony after the final scores.
Next up on UC Davis' schedule is the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships hosted at Delaware State from Mar. 24-26. The Aggies will be attempting to secure a spot at the NCEA Championships in April.
