Aggies win thriller over Liberty on late goal by Brislin

Davis, Calif. - Ella Brislin converted a free position attempt with 1:27 to go and UC Davis outscored the Liberty Flames 4-3 in the fourth quarter to win 12-11 at UC Davis Health Stadium on Friday afternoon. 

A back-and-forth final period saw the Flames take a 9-8 lead with 12:44 remaining. UC Davis (3-2) answered with three straight, a score by Alex Agnew with Brislin on the helper, a free position attempt by
Brislin, and a score by Brooke Long with an assist to Natalie Wilson to lead 11-9 with 3:44 to go. 

The Flames scored goals 19 seconds apart with 2:43 and 2:24 remaining to even the score though and set up Brislin's go-ahead score after a Liberty foul. 
UC Davis had to fight back from a 7-5 deficit at the half, outscoring the Flames 3-1 in the third to do it. 

Natalie Markman scored at the 11:05 mark to make it 7-6 and Kendall Seifert scored with an assist from Agnew to answer a Liberty score and keep it a one score game at 8-7. Seifert scored again on a free position attempt with 27 seconds left in the period to tie it at eight heading into the fourth. 

Brislin led the Aggies with three goals and two assists, Agnew had two goals and two assists and Seifert and Markman added two goals each. Grace Gebhardt had one goal and one assist, Mia Lawrence scored once and Brooke long scored once. 

Ashley Laing made 15 saves to pick up her third win of the season in goal. 

Lawrence maintained her scoring streak as the only Aggie to score in all five games so far. Agnew leads UC Davis in all categories and has an assist in all five games. 

The Aggies will get two straight home games for the first time this season, hosting Stanford on Sunday at UC Davis Health Stadium at 1 p.m.
