SANTA CLARA, Calif. – UC Davis sophomore pitcher
Kenedi Brown tossed a no-hitter and the Aggies softball team claimed two wins Friday at the Silicon Valley Classic Tournament. The Aggies blanked Utah State, 2-0, then downed host Santa Clara, 2-1, in the nightcap.
GAME 1
Brown was magnificent in the opener and was nearly perfect, walking one and striking out 11 in her first no-hitter as an Aggie.
UC Davis scored both runs in the fifth inning as freshman
Reese Mattley singled down the left field line for the first run of the game.
Sarah Nakahara then smacked a double to plate Mattley and secure the victory.
GAME 2
It took nine innings to sort out the contest against Santa Clara as UC Davis avenged its opening day loss. Sophomore hurler
Taylor Fitzgerald went the distance, scattering six hits and allowing one unearned while striking out three.

Delaney Diaz collected three hits sophomore
Sarah Starks recorded the game-winning hit in the ninth inning on a double to left-center to score sophomore

The Aggies will play two games tomorrow at San Jose State, beginning with Utah State at 10 a.m.
