NEWS & NOTABLES: The Aggies are back in the swing of things this week, teeing-off their spring season with 54 holes at The Valley Invitational co-hosted by CSU Bakersfield and Cal Poly at the Bakersfield Country Club. It's the first tournament for UC Davis since mid-October when the Aggies competed at the Stanford Intercollegiate to wrap up the fall. Competing in the final two events of the fall schedule, freshman
Abby Leighton posted a 74.17 scoring average, including a low round of 71 at Stanford, while newcomer
Naomi Danner posted a pair of sub-par rounds with a 70 at the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate and a 71 in her first collegiate round at the Badger Invitational.

NEWS & NOTABLES: After a weekend away from the courts, the UC Davis men's tennis team will play four matches in a four-day span. The Aggies open the week on Thursday, heading to No. 12 Stanford. UC Davis will then return home for three contests as the Aggies kick off the weekend with a match against Causeway rival Sacramento State on Friday. UC Davis will then host a doubleheader on Saturday, welcoming Saint Mary's and Holy Names to the Marya Welch Tennis Center.

NEWS & NOTABLES: The last chances to catch the UC Davis women's basketball team at home in February happen this week as the Aggies look to get back on track in the second half of Big West Conference play against UC San Diego and UC Irvine at the University Credit Union Center. UC Davis dropped a pair of games last week, falling in a two-point heartbreaker against UC Riverside after its last-chance shots did not go down, then losing a seven-point decision in Honolulu at Hawai'i after leading by as many as 13. Sophomore Evanne Turner was the offensive catalyst for the Aggies, averaging 16 points per game in the two contests while shooting 40 percent overall and from beyond the arc.

UC Irvine Indoor Attendance Policies
NEWS & NOTABLES: UC Davis hits the road to Southern California to take on UC San Diego and UC Irvine this week after pulling off an upset of league-leading Hawai'i at home to cap a 2-0 week. Ezra Manjon, who was named the Big West Conference Player of the Week for his hand in the two wins, poured in 20 points -- including four of the Aggies' final six on the night to break a 62-all tie en route to the win. Elijah Pepper added 19 and Christian Anigwe chipped in 16 against the Rainbow Warriors. Earlier in the week, Manjon finished with 19 more to lead four UC Davis players in double figures in a five-point win at UC Riverside, featuring a defensive effort that limited the Highlanders to just 37 percent from the field.

NEWS & NOTABLES: The Aggies are back in the saddle for the first time since mid-November this week, traveling to Tennessee for a pair of duals against #1 Oklahoma State and Eastern College Athletic Conference rival #9 UT-Martin on Friday and Saturday (Updated rankings are due out on Feb. 8). UC Davis is coming off a fall season that saw the Aggies finish 2-3 in duals, including wins over #9 South Carolina and South Dakota State, while racking up a total of 11 Most Outstanding Performance awards -- including two apiece from

NEWS AND NOTABLES: The UC Davis softball team opens the 2022 campaign this weekend when its hosts the NorCal Kickoff. The Aggies will open the season against Santa Clara on Friday and then host Saint Mary's and Montana in a doubleheader on Saturday. UC Davis closes out the weekend against Saint Mary's on Sunday. NEWS & NOTABLES: A run of nine consecutive dates away from home continues this weekend in Southern California as the Aggies head to La Jolla to take part in the 2022 Triton Invitational hosted by Big West Conference rival UC San Diego on Feb. 12-13. UC Davis opens against Loyola Marymount on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., before facing off against either Michigan or Pomona-Pitzer later in the day depending on the first-round results of those two matches. The Aggies are coming off a pair of defeats to top-10 Pac-12 rivals last week at the Stanford Invite, falling to No. 9 Arizona State, 15-10, and No. 4 California, 9-4. Junior

NEWS & NOTABLES: The UC Davis lacrosse team heads to Southern California for its second and final exhibition of the year, taking on Pomona-Pitzer prior to the start of the regular season. The Aggies opened its preparation for the 2022 campaign with an exhibition at Stanford on Feb. 5, as
Alex Agnew led UC Davis with a hat trick, while
Mia Lawrence (who also finished with a pair of assists) and newcomer
Natalie Markman added two goals apiece against the Cardinal. In goal, freshman
Ally Richardson-Pepper finished with 10 saves and six ground balls in her unofficial Aggie debut.
