IRVINE, Calif. - No.10 UC Davis completed its trip to southern California as they lost to No.13 Long Beach State 7-5 on the final day of the Barbara Kalbus Invitational.
Long Beach State would outscore the Aggies 4-1 in the first quarter with the Aggie goal coming on an Alyssa Lengtat shot with 4:58 left in the quarter. Lengtat would score the Aggies' lone goal in the second quarter with 1:51 left. Long Beach State would lead 5-2 at halftime.
In the second half, Long Beach State would outscore the Aggies 2-1 in the third quarter. Sam Yoo would gain the tally in the third quarter for the Aggies. In the fourth quarter, the Aggies would have goals from Julia Hartmann, with 4:47 left, and Kelly Hungerford, with 2:04 left, to trim Long Beach State's lead to two, at 7-5.
Long Beach State out-shot UC Davis 24-21 and had four more assists (6-2) than did the Aggies.
The Aggies will return home on Friday as they will take on University of the Pacific in Davis at 6 pm
