CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – The UC Davis softball team battled with the No. 8-ranked team in the country but ultimately fell short, 3-0, Friday afternoon at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. The Aggies move to 5-5 on the young season.
UC Davis collected five hits but could not push through. Sophomore
Taylor Fitzgerald was tagged with the loss after allowing two runs on six hits.

Libbie McMahan also collected two hits.
UC Davis will round out the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic with two games on Saturday. The Aggies will face Utah at 5:30 p.m., and then wrap up play against California Baptist at 8 p.m.
