CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. --- The UC Davis softball team dropped both its games on opening day of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic Thursday evening. The Aggies fell in the opener to No. 17 Tennessee, 11-0, and then lost the nightcap, 9-1, to San Diego State.
The Aggies held tough against the No. 17-ranked Volunteers until a big inning in the sixth ultimately decided the contest.
Against the Aztecs,
Leah Polson drove in the lone run for the Aggies, bringing in
Sommer Kisling. UC Davis scored the one run on four hits.
The Aggies will continue play tomorrow with a lone contest against Arizona at 1 p.m.
