SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The UC Davis women's tennis team was edged, 4-3, by Cal Poly, Sunday afternoon at the Mustang Tennis Complex.
The Aggies tried to make a comeback after dropping the doubles point and the first singles match but could not climb back as four of the six matches went three sets.
Junior
Yana Gurevich continued her winning streak, winning her eighth in a row, downing Laura Bente at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-4.
Sophomore
Olive Maunupau won at No. 4 singles, beating Emily Ackerman, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, while junior
Kristina Evloeva battled at the No. 5 spot, clawing past Delanie Dunkle, 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3).
The Aggies will head a little further south to face UC Santa Barbara on Monday at 11 a.m.
