FRESNO, Calif. – The UC Davis softball team collected 14 hits en route to a 6-1 victory over Fresno State Sunday afternoon from Margie Wright Diamond. With the win, the Aggies secured the series and improved to 5-2 on the season.
Senior
Delaney Diaz continued her hot hitting in the rubber match, batting 2-for-3 with two RBI. Diaz showcased a .700 (7-for-10) batting average with eight RBI on the weekend.
The Aggies 2-though-5 hitters were excellent at the plate, collectively batting 11-for-16 on the day. Junior

Sarah Starks and sophomore
Leah Polson recorded three hits apiece.
UC Davis opened the game with a run in the first inning when Polson doubled to left field to bring home Starks.
The Aggies tacked on another in the third when Diaz plated Kisling and then broke the game open with two runs in the fifth and another pair in the sixth.
Sophomore
Kenedi Brown (3-1) won her second outing in the series, striking out five while allowing one run on six hits. The reigning Big West Pitcher of the Week sported a 1.00 ERA and struck out 16 while holding the Bulldogs to just a .208 batting average.
The Aggies will continue their road trip with five games at the prestigious Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City. UC Davis opens the tournament with two games on Thursday, Feb. 24, facing Tennessee and San Diego State.
