Aggies wrap up weekend in Tennessee against No. 1 Oklahoma State

Davis, Calif. - UC Davis wrapped up its first competition of the 2021-22 season's second half on Saturday, falling to No. 1 Oklahoma State 11-5 in a meet hosted at UT Martin in Tennessee.

The Aggies began the meet on Friday with flat and reining following a full slate of events against UT Martin. Nicole Beales just missed her career-best with an 87-81.5 win and though Carly Sweeney also approached her career-best of 90 with an 87, Oklahoma State finished flat with a 3-1 advantage. 67.5-67 and 70-64.5 wins by Kendal Scheiner and Lauren Langbaum respectively in reining put the Aggies down just 3-5 to the No. 1 team in the nation.

In her first collegiate fences competition, freshman Jessie Rechs won her point 84-76 to start the Aggies out on Saturday but Oklahoma State went on to take the event 3-1. In horsemanship, Natasha Replogle won her point 72.5-70.5, her third win of the season, but the event finished 3-1 for Oklahoma State.

The Aggies (2-5, 1-3) are in action next at Fresno State on Feb. 26 before finishing the season with three straight meets at home.
