DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis men's tennis team carried over its momentum from its thrilling victory yesterday against rival Sacramento State to earn two more wins on Saturday. The Aggies downed Saint Mary's, 6-1, and then blanked Holy Names, 7-0, on the courts at the Mayra Welch Tennis Center.

After a battle to win the doubles point against the Gaels, the Aggies won the first five singles matches to secure the win. Junior Brett Brinkman won the first match of the day at No. 4 singles, downing Carlos Ramos, 6-3, 6-3. Junior Andrei Volgin continued his winning ways, beating James Watt in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

UC Davis earned the win when freshman Ryan Morgan took down Diego Jarry, 7-6, 6-2, at No. 5 singles. Andras Necz and Ryan Torres both won their matches as well.

The Aggies capped off the day, racing past Holy Names, 7-0. After the freshmen pair of Abhi Eedara and Cory Pham won at No. 2 doubles, 7-6 (6), UC Davis took down the short-handed Hawks in comfortable fashion in the singles competition.

UC Davis will head west to face San Francisco on Feb. 18 and then return home for a pair of matches on Feb. 19 against Santa Clara and William Jessup.
