Davis, Calif. — Returning back to the win column in emphatic fashion, the UC Davis Men's Basketball Team defeated the Holy Names Hawks by a score of 107-55 Tuesday night. Marking the last home game for the Aggies during the calendar year, UC Davis moves to a record of 7-3, while Holy Names drops to 4-7 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kickstarting the game with a flurry of buckets, Ade Adebayo scored all eight of his points during the first three minutes of action to pace UC Davis to a 21-2 lead.
- It was during this early 17-0 run that the Aggies had their biggest momentum swing of the game, forcing four early turnovers to set the tone for the rest of the game.
- Leading the charge for UC Davis was none other than lone senior, Christian Anigwe. He posted a 16 point, 11 rebound double-double in just 23 minutes. Anigwe also added one steal, and one block during his season-high rebounding night.
- Robby Beasley III keeps on building as he gets more comfortable in Davis, after scoring a season high 18 points on 6-9 shooting from the field and going 4-5 from behind the arc. He has broke his Davis career-high outputs in three straight games and was one of five Aggies to eclipse double figures tonight.
- Some other double figure scorers for UC Davis were Elijah Pepper (21 points), and Ty Johnson (15 points) who continue to pace the offense for UC Davis from the guard positions.
- Pepper went 12-15 from the charity stripe, with the Aggies shooting 45 free throws in total. Another strong showing from the Aggies as they continue to rank as one of the best teams in the nation at drawing free throws through 10 games.
- Ty Johnson led the Aggies in assists for the second straight game after recording seven tonight.
- Limiting the Hawks to just 55 points on the night, UC Davis held their opponents to just 33.3% shooting from the field and just 14.3% from three point land.
- UC Davis capitalized in all facets, recording 20 points off turnovers, 27 second chance points, 28 fast break points, and made sure to get downhill all game by posting 42 points in the paint.
- DeAndre Henry was the final Aggie to reach double figures, scoring 13 points in just under 17 minutes of action. His 13 points was the first time in his collegiate career scoring double figures and he did so by knocking down two three pointers. He also feasted on the glass tonight, just nearly missing out on a double-double after bringing down in rebounds.
- The Aggies finished the night shooting a staggering 52.5% from the field and 47.6% from three. The Aggies move to 4-0 in games they have shot above 40% from three and has been a key to their efficient offense all season.
- UC Davis out rebounded Holy Names 61-17 and have made a concerted effort to improve in this area in which was a struggle for UC Davis just a year ago.
- Leading the Holy Names Hawks was Sacramento native, Dale Currie who had a team high 14 points on 6-14 shooting.

Concluding their home contests for 2022, the UC Davis returns back to action when they travel to Eastern Washington for a matchup on Dec. 17 scheduled for 1 P.M. in Cheney, Washington. After traveling to Washington, UC Davis has a date with UCLA at Pauley Pavilion on Dec. 21, signaling the final contest before conference play. The final non-conference matchup against UCLA will then pave the way for UC Davis to open up Big West play as they travel to Hawai'i on Dec. 29.
