Pepper's 30 Points Helps Aggies Secure Win Against SEMO, 73-71

Milwaukee, Wisc. — Getting themselves back into the win column, UC Davis Men's Basketball defeated the SEMO Redhawks by a score of 73-71 Sunday morning. After Ty Johnson poured in a career-high 32 points yesterday, it was Elijah Pepper today providing the spark for the offense, as he was able to pace the Aggies with 30 points. The Aggies move to 5-2 on the season with the win today.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Elijah Pepper came into this contest fresh off his 1,000 Career Points accolade, and got it going from the jump. At one point in the first half, he accounted for 11 of UC Davis' 14 points and never looked back. This is Pepper's second 30 point game of the year, with his other one being a 32 point barrage against LMU. Pepper finished the day 10-20 from the field with four threes. He also added five rebounds, two steals, and a block. Pepper finished at a team high +13 in box +/-.
  • Ade Adebayo had his best game of the season as he scored a career-high 13 points on 5-6 FG. This was Adebayo's first ever game scoring double-figures. Adebayo had three rebounds and was his usual self on the defensive end after racking up two steals.
  • Kane Milling helped space the floor for UC Davis today as he drilled three, three-pointers and finished the game with nine points.
  • Niko Rocak off the bench, tied with Ty Johnson for a team-high, eight rebounds.
  • The Aggies shot 47.4% from the field and carried a +10 rebound advantage over the Redhawks. UC Davis has continually made their presence felt on the offensive glass and had 12 O-Boards compared to SEMO's six.
  • UC Davis held SEMO to just 40.7% from the field.
