STOCKTON, Calif. - The UC Davis women's basketball team opened the Turkey Tip-Off by falling, 67-48 to Wyoming, Saturday afternoon at the Alex G. Spanos Center Saturday.

Evanne Turner once again led the Aggies (2-3) with 11 points on 4-of-10 shooting, including a made three. Megan Norris pulled down a team-high seven rebounds and added three points while Megan Jones chipped in seven points, three rebounds and two blocks.

Wyoming had three scorers in double-figures as Quinn Weidemann led the charge with 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Grace Ellis followed with 17 points and recorded seven rebounds.

The Cowgirls built a 25-15 advantage in the second quarter before UC Davis went on a 6-0 run, highlighted by a three from Tova Sabel, to narrow its deficit to 25-21. Wyoming responded and expanded its lead, leaving the Aggies trailing 32-25 heading into halftime.

The Aggies started to cut into the deficit after the break, bringing it to 40-37 by the end of the third quarter. UC Davis played well near the basket, scoring six of its 12 points in the paint.

UC Davis could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 67-48. The Aggies will face host Pacific tomorrow at 3 p.m.
