CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT HISTORY
UC Davis is making its third appearance in the Big West Championship Tournament, last qualifying in 2018 with the first appearance coming in 2011. The Aggies will be looking for their first postseason win in the conference tournament.
SERIES HISTORY
UC Davis is 6-9-5 all-time against UC Irvine but 2-2-2 over the last six meetings between the teams. The Aggies won the 2021 meeting 2-1 and the two squads played to a 2-2 draw at the end of September in the Big West season opener at Aggie Soccer Field. The Anteaters went 16-6 in 2021 and won the Big West regular season and tournament championship on their way to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
FIVE AGGIES SECURE CONFERENCE HONORS
The UC Davis soccer team was recognized after the conclusion of regular season play with five Big West Conference accolades, including three first-team honors.
Leslie Fregoso,
Jayde Holley and
Emma Vane garnered first team accolades, while defender
Francesca Van Norden was named honorable mention.
Sarah Canavan was named to the all-freshman team.
HISTORY LESSON
The second place finish in conference play is the best in school history. The six wins in league play are the most in the Division I era for the Aggies and the 19 overall wins over the last two seasons under head coach
Tracy Hamm are the most in a two-season span since 2002-23. Eleven conference wins in back-to-back seasons have never been accomplished by UCD in Big West play, in fact, the Aggies have never had 11 conference wins in a three-year span since joining the Big West.
