Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Aggies honor three seniors, but drop contest to UC San Diego

Davis, CA — The UC Davis Men's Soccer Team (4-8-4, 3-3-2 Big West) dropped Saturday's evening tilt against the UC San Diego Tritons (8-7-2, 4-4 Big West) by a score of 0-1. Prior to the match, UC Davis was able to recognize the great careers of Max Glasser, Andy Velasquez, and Emmanuel Doherty

In a match that saw the Aggies come out as the aggresors, it was the Tritons who were able to capitalize on their minimal chances when Carter Jacobus snuck in a goal after the Tritons only had two shots the entire game.

The Aggies outshot the Tritons 12 to 2 and attempted 7 corners to the Tritons 4, but were ultimately unable to convert.

Unfortunate fouls played a part in this as Davis was given the whistle 10 times to the Tritons 3. On top of this discrepancy, many of the fouls that were charged to Davis were 50-50 balls within scoring range.

Andy Velasquez and Zack Lillington led all Aggies with three shots, as Lillington nearly beat the Triton goalkeeper twice as two of his three shots were on target.

Ethan Hoard also recorded a shot on goal while Max Glasser and Keegan Walwyn-Bent added two shots as well.

The Aggies will hope to have some shots bounce their way next time as they close their regular season out Saturday, Oct. 29 at 3:00PM PDT when they travel over the Causeway to take on Sacramento State (8-6-2, 3-4 Big West).
