BERKELEY – The Aggies' women's tennis team started their season at the Cal Invitational in Berkeley. The Aggies made the round of sixteen in each of the three brackets that were played in the three-day event held at the Hellman Tennis Complex.
 
In the White bracket, newcomer Kaia Wolfe won her first three matches in straight sets in her collegiate debut. Wolfe was credited with the win in her semifinal match against Tina Li of BYU due to a withdraw. In the championship match for the bracket, Wolfe fell to Hana Gamracy of University of San Francisco, 6-2, 6-1.

Sophomore Maddi Page made the quarterfinals as she won her first two matches in straight sets before falling to Li.  
 
In the Blue bracket, senior Yana Gurevich won her opening match 6-2, 7-5 over No. 119-ranked Klara Kosan of the University of the Pacific. Gurevich fell to Yujia Huang of BYU in straight sets in the round of 16.
 
In the Gold bracket, three Aggies made the round of 16. Both senior Kristina Evloeva and sophomore Claire Galerkin won their round of 32 matches in three sets while junior Carly Schwartzberg won her match in straight sets.
 
The Aggies will hit the courts again October 14^th-18^th at the ITA Northwest Regional hosted by Stanford University.
