DAVIS, Calif. – Mitchell Davis and Andrei Volgin started Friday's non-conference match at the Marya Welch Tennis Center with a 6-1 doubles victory vs. Franco Capalbo and Luis Flores, but the visiting Utes rallied to win the following two matchups to take an early 1-0 overall lead by winning the doubles round.

With the first three singles matches ending in their favor, the Utes extended a one-point lead to four, and officially collected a victory in the first-ever head-to-head meeting.

Men's tennis' four-match homestand will continue on Sunday when UC Santa Barbara visits campus for a Big West Conference dual that will begin at 12 p.m.

Once this weekend's action concludes, Cal Poly and Hawai'i will complete UC Davis' current homestand with next Friday's and Saturday's duals before the Aggies hit the road for its final three regular season matches at Sacramento State (April 16), UC Riverside (April 23) and UC Irvine (April 24).
