FAIRFAX, Calif. — Led by sophomore
Jackie Lucena in a tie for 34th, the UC Davis women's golf team stands in 11th place following the first 36 holes of the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational on Monday in Fairfax, Calif.
Lucena finished her first round at 6-over, before improving by two shots in her second round of the day to lead the Aggies' scoring group after day one. Seniors
Madison Wood and
Hannah Sun were two and three shots back, respectively to end the first 36 holes in 45th and a tie for 46th, respectively.
Junior
Andrea Gomez Lloret carded the Aggies' best round of the day with a first-round 75 to stand at 3-over, but currently stands in a tie for 46th alongside Sun with 18 holes to play, with senior
Skyler Wood rounding out the group in a tie for 55th.
Washington leads the race for the team title at 3-over after Monday's first two rounds, holding a 14-shot lead over second-place BYU and standing 16 shots clear of third-place Stanford. The Huskies' Stefanie Deng stands atop the leaderboard at 2-under with one round remaining, holding a three-shot lead heading into Tuesday.
