UC Davis kept its first quarter lead intact before going on a 5-0 run starting at the 8:07 mark in the second period, highlighted by a three from Turner, to increase its lead to 25-16. The Aggies kept that lead for the remainder of the period and enjoyed a 33-24 advantage heading into halftime. UC Davis dominated in the paint, scoring 10 of its 13 points close to the basket.

UC Davis continued to preserve its halftime lead before going on a 5-0 run, punctuated by a three from environmental science and management major Sage Stobbart, to expand its lead further to 38-26 with 7:12 to go in the third. Before the conclusion of the third period, the Mustangs had cut into that lead somewhat, but the Aggies still entered the fourth quarter with a 47-38 edge. UC Davis started tacking on points in the fourth almost immediately, going on a 10-0 run, finished off by cell biology major Cierra Hall's layup, to grow the lead to 57-38 with 6:50 to go in the contest. The Mustangs narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the Aggies still cruised the rest of the way for the 63-47 win.
