Box Score DAVIS, Calif. - In a tense back-and-forth matchup between two of the top teams in the Western Water Polo Association, UC Davis topped Loyola Marymount 13-12 Thursday night at Schaal Aquatic Center.
The win gives UC Davis (15-7, 7-0) the regular season WWPA title and locks up the top seed in the WWPA Championship later this month.

LMU got as close as 5-8 at the half before Aznar Beltran and senior
Nir Gross made it 10-5 game with 4:09 left in the third period. Goals by the Lions' Blazo Metrovich and David Carrasco inside the final two minutes of the period made it a 10-7 game to end the third.
After LMU pulled within 10-9 with 6:26 to go in the game, the teams traded goals across four straight goals before the Lions broke serve with 1:00 to go and tied the game at 12, setting up Voggenthaler's heroics.
UC Davis will host No. 12 UC San Diego on Nov. 6 and wrap up the regular season with a non-conference match against Pacific on Nov. 11.
