NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -- Freshman
Amara Aimufua posted her third straight match with double-digit kills, finishing with a team-high 17 on the night to lead two other teammates in double figures, but the UC Davis women's volleyball could not complete the comeback on the road Saturday night, falling to host CSUN, 3-1, at the Matadome.
The Aggies fell to 11-18 overall and 7-11 in Big West Conference play, battling back from down two sets to win, 28-26, in the third before falling 25-23 in the fourth to close out the night. The Matadors improved to 7-21 overall and 6-12 in conference play, led by Taylor Orshoff's match-high 18 kills.
Just one night after finishing with 14 kills at UC Santa Barbara, Aimufua hit .278 and added seven digs to her 17-kill total -- her highest since setting a career high with 20 at Cal State Fullerton on Oct. 22. It was her 18th double-digit kill performance of the season and her fifth in the team's last six matches.

The final week of the regular season has UC Davis at home around the Thanksgiving holiday, hosting Long Beach State on Wednesday (Nov. 24) at 2 p.m., before welcoming Cal State Fullerton on Saturday (Nov. 27) for a noon first serve.
