Eight future Aggies join Hamm's soccer squad

Six Californians, join signees from Nevada and Wisconsin

DAVIS, Calif. -- UC Davis head women's soccer coach Tracy Hamm announced Thursday a class of eight high school standouts that have chosen to continue their academic and athletic careers with the Aggies.

"The 2022 class is going to add depth to an already talented young team," Hamm said. "Many of these players come from winning club and high school programs that have a history of competing and showing up for big games.

"Each individual brings something unique to the class and I am looking forward to watching them complement our versatile program. We are adding a range of positions and roles to the squad. We have no doubt curated a star-studded group and are optimistically awaiting the fall of 2022."

Six of the eight high school signees hail from the state of California, with another joining UC Davis from Nevada, and another from Wisconsin.

Below are brief bios on each of the signees.

UC Davis finished the 2021 campaign with a 10-8 overall record and a 5-5 mark in Big West Conference play, posting the program's first winning season -- and its first with 10-or-more wins -- since the Aggies wrapped up the 2015 campaign with a 10-7-2 overall record. Sophomores Leslie Fregoso and Risa Yamada were each named to the All-Big West first team -- the first UC Davis duo to do so since 2013 -- while newcomer Jayde Holley was a second-team selection and a member of the all-freshman team.
