SAN FRANCISCO -- Senior Kayla Konrad finished with a team-high 13 points and senior Cierra Hall nabbed a team-high 12 rebounds, but the UC Davis women's basketball team could not overcome a total of 26 turnovers on Thursday night, falling to host San Francisco, 73-46, at War Memorial Gym at the Sobrato Center.
The Aggies dropped their second straight contest, falling to 1-2 overall on the season and limited to just 32 percent shooting from the field for the night. The Dons improved to 2-1, turning those 26 UC Davis miscues into 24 points.
Konrad's performance was a season high as the Valencia, Calif., native finished 5-of-10 from the field, including a pair of three-pointers, and added four rebounds on the night. It was her highest point total since finishing with 13 points against Missouri State in last year's NCAA Tournament opening round clash.
Hall, whose eight points moved her to within 63 points of 1,000 for her career, posted her first double-digit rebounding game of the season (and the 17th of her career), moving past Morgan Bertsch and Celia Marfone for sixth on the all-time list with 693 and closing to within 15 rebounds of Alyson Doherty's Division I program career record in that category.
UC Davis remains on the road next week, but it's a short trip across the Causeway for the Aggies, who take on rival Sacramento State on Tuesday (Nov. 23) at 5 p.m. at the Golden 1 Center. Tickets for the game are available online at UCDavisAggies.com.
