Davis, Calif. - Jacques 'Jac' Mani is the newest Aggie to join head coach
Jim Les' squad as the Beverly Hills High School product inked a National Letter of Intent with UC Davis on Thursday.
"We are very excited to be adding Jacques Mani to the Aggie Basketball family," Les said. "'Jac' has a rare combination of size and skill that will allow him to be an impact player at UC Davis for years to come. We have watched him grow as a player and believe he has the drive and ability to continue to improve on an already impressive skill set."
A 6'9" forward, Mani fits in right away as an athletic big in UC Davis' fast paced, defense-first system. Mani chose UC Davis over at least seven other schools across the Big Sky and Big West conferences.
Mani was an All-League 1st team selection as a sophomore when he averaged 18 points per game and nine rebounds. He improved to 20 points per game and 11 rebounds during his junior year.
"As a young man Jac fits in very well with our team and culture," Les added. "His transition to being an Aggie will be seamless. He possesses the type of personality and character that we look for in the young men we recruit, so I have no doubt he will have a positive impact when he arrives. We are thrilled to be adding him to the program."
Mani, who also has experience at small forward and shot 45 percent from the field during one his high school seasons, also played for the club team West Coast Elite.
