Davis, Calif. - The Aggies sent their senior class out on a high note on Saturday afternoon, defeating Lynchburg in a Jumping Seat-only meet at the UC Davis Equestrian Center 4-4 to take the win on total points 557-518.
Keely Laughlin earned one of two UC Davis Fences points with an 82 on Gracie for a 17-point win and Fences MOP, the fourth time this season Laughlin has scored at least 80 points. Stephanie Don won her point 77-70, her second-best score this season.
Sabin Marquardt gave the Aggies a sweep of MOPs on the day with a 73-47 win on Cappo in Flat. The decorated senior ends the regular season having earned a Flat score of at least 70 points in six of UC Davis' nine meets. Sierra Gundersen secured the tie with a 59-52 win on Reggie as the seventh draw.
Afforded the opportunity to take additional exhibition rides due to the format of today's meet, the Aggies provided highlights like Ashley LeCron earning a career-high Fences score of 80 on Renny in an exhibition ride.
The Aggies closed out the day with an intrasquad Western scrimmage to take advantage of the opportunity to go through one last full competition before the Eastern College Athletic Conference championships from March 26-28.
UC Davis closes out its second season 3-6 and 2-1 in the ECAC.
