Fresno, Calif. - The Aggies opened a neutral site meet against Eastern College Equestrian Conference foe UT Martin on Friday by sweeping Horsemanship and ending the day holding a 5-3 lead over the Skyhawks.
Part of a two day set in which the Aggies will compete in Reining and Fences against UT Martin Saturday morning followed by a full meet against host Fresno State, the Aggies combined to account for the top three Horsemanship scores on the day.
Kayla Hickey owned the high water mark with a 73.5 that was good for a 5.5 point win on Whiskers.
Katie Flinn followed with a 72 for a one point win on Sam and
Bobbie Piddock earned a three-point win on Lucy 2.
Sarah Finkel won for the second straight week with a 63 on Lucy.
On the Flat side, the Aggies turned in three scores over 75 but
Laura Wise won UC Davis' lone point, securing a six-point win on Mac with a 75.
Sabin Marquardt had a 77 and
Keely Laughlin a 76 but fell by one and three points respectively.
UC Davis will resume their meet against UT Martin on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. followed by a full meet against Fresno State.
