Box Score STANFORD, Calif. — Facing defending national champion and third-ranked Stanford for the second time in as many years, the Aggies fell 0-7 to the Cardinal on Friday afternoon.
The Cardinal played without their usual No. 1 doubles team, but still swept all three matches. Sara Tsukamoto and Lauren Ko put up the best result at the top of the lineup, falling 6-3 to Michaela Gordon and Janice Shin.

Starting with momentum, Shirley Hall took an early 3-1 lead against No. 77 Angelica Blake in a see-saw first set, before Blake stormed back for a 5-3 lead. Hall, never a quitter, battled back to 5-5, but eventually fell 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3 singles after the clinch.
The Aggies were fighting it out on courts No. 2 and No. 4, with Yana Gurevich having a much closer match than her 6-2, 6-2 result against No. 123 Shin states, and Kristina Breisacher falling 6-2, 6-4 to usually top-20 ranked Emily Arbuthnott to close the day.
UC Davis will have the weekend off before hitting the road to resume Big West Conference play, taking on UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly next weekend, feb. 22-23.
