DAVIS, Calif. -- A program-record total of 15 UC Davis football players earned spots on the Big Sky Conference 2019 Fall All-Academic team, as the league office rolled out that honor roll Friday.
Alphabetically, the Aggie honorees are junior John Aloma, senior Matt Blair, sophomore Carson Crawford, senior Doug Drakeley, junior Erron Duncan, senior Nick Fehrenbach, redshirt freshman Jordan Ford, senior Tiger Garcia, junior Cole Hansen, senior Will Martin, redshirt freshman Luka Nixon, redshirt freshman Garren O'Keefe, graduate student Max O'Rourke, senior Wes Preece and freshman Blake Thorpe.
To be eligible for the Big Sky All-Academic team, student-athletes must have a) compiled at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average, b) completed at least one academic term at the institution, and c) competed in a minimum of 50 percent of his team's contests for the year in question.
This marks the third straight honor for Blair, Fehrenbach, Garcia and Preece. It is the second for Aloma, Crawford and O'Rourke. Drakeley, Ford, Nixon, O'Keefe and Thorpe earned honors in their first years of eligibility. The 15 total UC Davis honorees surpasses the 14 won by the 2017 football team.
In all, the Big Sky Conference honored 594 student-athletes from football, volleyball, soccer and cross country.
