DAVIS, Calif. — Ezra Manjon recorded his second 20-point total as an Aggie by finishing with a career-high 24, Kennedy Koehler was responsible for one-fourth of UC Davis' rebound total by collecting a career-high 10, and Elijah Pepper posted 10 points and nine rebounds in Wednesday night's Big West Conference game at The Pavilion against Cal State Fullerton.

Thanks to a pair of Titan turnovers, combined with a three from Pepper with 25 seconds remaining, the Aggies pulled within five and were forced to foul to stop the clock. By hitting 11 of their final 12 free throws, CSF survived UC Davis' late scoring surge to escape Davis with a 78-74 victory.

Men's basketball will now head to Hawai'i for Saturday's 9 p.m. PT league matchup against the Rainbow Warriors with an 8-12 overall and 2-2 Big West record. Cal State Fullerton will continue its season at 7-13 and 2-3, respectively.

Trailing by seven at halftime, UC Davis slowly chipped away at Cal State Fullerton's lead until it pulled even at 52 apiece, with 6:02 left to play, thanks to a 13-3 scoring run that spanned 5:49 seconds.

Within that larger run, UC Davis scored six unanswered thanks to consecutive layups, on as many possessions, from Koehler, Manjon and Ade Adebayo. An additional layup from Manjon, and a jumper from Matt Neufeld shortly thereafter pulled the Aggies within one. Following a layup from CSF's Austen Awosika, a three-point play from Pepper created the second tied score of the evening.

In addition to Manjon and Koehler's new career highs, Stefan Gonzalez matched one of his top totals as an Aggie by collecting eight rebounds. Combined with Manjon and Koehler, that Aggie trio earned 27 of the team's 40 total rebounds and 10 of its 12 on the offensive glass.

By scoring 11 of his points at the free throw line, Brandon Kamga led all Titans with 21 points.

In addition to a video stream, available on BigWest.TV, Sports 1140 KHTK will carry Scott Marsh's call from the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu. When the Aggies return to the mainland, it will host back-to-back home games versus UC Irvine (Jan. 30) and Cal Poly (Feb. 1) — a game that will take place on the program's Alumni Day.
