DAVIS, Calif.— The UC Davis women's diving duo of sophomore Katie Truong and freshmen Londen Christensen will look to earn berths into the NCAA Championships this week, competing at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships hosted on the campus of Northern Arizona at the Wall Aquatic Center in Flagstaff, Ariz.Â
A total of 96 divers—both men's and women's—representing 27 universities are slated to compete over the course of the three-day meet.  The women's 3-meter prelims are set to begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, while the 1-meter prelims will take place on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. The third and final day of competition will conclude with the women's platform beginning at 11 a.m.Â
Truong logged a career-best score of 279.00 on the low boards earlier this season on Oct. 20 when she took home top honors against Mountain Pacific Sports Federation colleague San Diego—her first NCAA Zone E Qualifying score of the year. In the 3-meter program Truong also logged a career-best score en route to a 10th place finish at MPSF Championships with a 294.00, marking the fourth-highest score by an Aggie diver in program history. The San Jose, Calif-native also finished just four points shy of the platform Zone E Qualifying standard when she captured seventh-place at the conference meet with the second-highest score in school history at 221.35
Truong is joined by freshman newcomer Londen Christensen who earned her first career Zone E Qualifying mark when she finished first overall against MPSF college San Diego (Oct. 20) with a season-best score of 266.10. Christensen also enters the weekend with season-high marks of 249.22 and 189.15 in the 3-meter and platform programs, respectively.Â
