Gymnasts fall in MPSF road dual to Seawolves

Aggies return home to host New Hampshire on Feb. 17

ANCHORAGE -- Sophomore Kelley Hebert captured the individual all-around and floor exercise titles while sophomore Cammi Johnson added a meet win on vault, but UC Davis lost the team race in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's gymnastics dual meet at Alaska Anchorage Saturday.

The Aggies scored a 193.875, falling by less than a quarter of a point to the Seawolves at 194.100. This marks UC Davis' first series loss to UAA since 2004.

Hebert scored a 9.850 on floor exercise en route to her four-event total of 38.975. Johnson notched a 9.800 on vault, leading an Aggie sweep of the top three places in that event, along with freshman Cortney Cunningham and junior Alyssa Ito, who each recorded 9.700 scores.

The Aggies opened strong on uneven bars with a 48.850 score, thanks to high scores from senior Aya Suzuki (9.850) and sophomore Sarah Liddle (9.825). Ito also recorded a team-best and career-high 9.850 on balance beam, good for second place in the meet.
