Big West
DAVIS, Calif. – With victories in its last five games, UC Davis is on a roll and will look to extend this win streak on Saturday when Long Beach State visits the Pavilion.
In addition to an online stream, available on BigWest.TV, a radio broadcast of this weekend's home game against the 49ers is available on KHTK 1140 AM and the station's TuneIn channel by searching KHTK. In addition to these video and audio options, live stats and in-game Twitter links are also available at
Gameday Central on UCDavisAggies.com.
Basketball fans at the Pavilion will notice UC Davis' coaches wearing blue puzzle piece pins on their suits, jackets or game day outfit, which is the staff's way of supporting Coaches Powering Forward for Autism. This is a nationwide initiative, supported by basketball coaches across the nation, to bring awareness, a global understanding and acceptance of people living with autism.
The Aggies will end the last four weeks of the regular season with six of its final eight games at the Pavilion, and this home-friendly schedule started with a 76-59 victory vs. CSUN.
A win against Long Beach State will give the team a sweep of this week's schedule and split the season series against LBSU since it won the Jan. 12 matchup, which took place inside the Walter Pyramid, to snap the Aggies' three-game head-to-head win streak.
This series has been a highly-competitive one in recent years: Starting with the 2014-15 season, UC Davis won five of its last nine against Long Beach State, with four of those games needing overtime to determine a winner. Of those four overtime games, the Ags won three, with last year's double-OT road classic the most recent of those results.
Long Beach State will wrap-up its current three-game road swing in Davis; this stretch of games started with a win at Cal Poly, the only victory in the 49ers last eight played. Six of LBSU's wins took place at home; it is 2-11 this season on the road, and will step onto Hamilton Court following a narrow 85-82 loss at Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday.
Don't let those numbers fool you, Saturday's game is a tough test for UC Davis since LBSU's league victories include results against the Aggies and on the road at league-leading UC Irvine. Of those seven losses in its last eight games, three were by three points or less. Of its last four home games against the 49ers, UC Davis won three of those matchups.
Series Record: UC Davis trails 22-7
Last UC Davis Win: 2/3/18 - A, 105-104 (2OT)
Last Long Beach State Win: 1/12/18 - A, 82-77
Series Streak: Long Beach State +1
